Privacy Policy
What personal data powervideos collects, how it is used and shared with AI and payment providers, how long it is kept, and your rights.

This Privacy Policy explains how 【TO CONFIRM: legal name of the operator or company】 ("powervideos", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use powervideos.dev and its story-to-video tools (the "Service"). For questions or requests, contact support@powervideos.dev.
1. Data we collect
Account data. Your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), email-verification status, and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us (name, email address, and profile picture).
Content you create. The stories and prompts you submit, and the storyboard images and videos generated for you, together with their status and timestamps (your "generation history").
Credits and payments. Your credit balance and a record of credits added, used, and refunded. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your Stripe customer ID, the plan or pack you bought, the amount, and the payment and subscription status. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Technical data. When you use the Service, our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and request logs, which we use for security and troubleshooting. We also keep a login session for you (see Cookies below).
Communications. Messages you send us, and, if you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address and subscription status.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the Service: create and secure your account, generate storyboards and videos, store your generation history, and manage credits.
- To process payments: handle subscriptions and credit packs, prevent fraud, and keep financial records.
- To communicate with you: send verification and password emails, receipts, service notices, and, if you opt in, product updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
- To keep the Service safe: detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the Service: understand how features are used and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your stories or generated videos to train our own AI models.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and improving the Service), your consent (newsletter and optional analytics), and legal obligations (tax and accounting).
3. AI processing
To generate your content, we send your story text, and for videos also your storyboard image, to our AI infrastructure provider KIE (kie.ai), which runs the requests on third-party AI models, currently OpenAI (ChatGPT Image2 / GPT Image 2) for storyboards and ByteDance (Seedance 2.0) for videos. These providers process the content to return the result and may apply their own safety filtering and retention practices under their policies. Do not include sensitive personal information, such as health data, government ID numbers, or other people's private information, in your stories.
4. How we share data
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed:

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data.
5. International transfers
Our providers operate globally, and your data may be processed in the United States and other countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses offered by our providers.
6. How long we keep data
- Account data and generation history: for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual generations at any time; this removes the storyboard, video, and record.
- After you delete your account: we delete your account data and content within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (for example, payment records, which are kept for the period required by law).
- Logs: kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use only cookies and browser storage needed to run the Service and remember your preferences:
- Login session cookie: keeps you signed in (essential).
- Language preference (
PARAGLIDE_LOCALE): remembers English or Chinese. - Theme preference: remembers light or dark mode (stored in your browser).
- Workspace preferences: such as whether the dashboard sidebar is collapsed, and a story you typed on the homepage before signing in, so it can continue after login.

8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct inaccurate data (you can edit your name in Settings);
- delete your data (you can delete generations and your account yourself);
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- complain to your local data-protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email support@powervideos.dev. We will respond within the time required by law and may need to verify your identity. We do not sell or "share" personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CCPA.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and storage with trusted providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 【TO CONFIRM: 13 / 16 / 18】, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
