Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of powervideos, including accounts, subscriptions, credits, refunds, and AI-generated content.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of powervideos, including the website at powervideos.dev and the story-to-video tools available through it (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by 【TO CONFIRM: legal name of the operator or company】 ("powervideos", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What powervideos does

powervideos turns a written story into a short AI video. You describe a story, the Service generates a storyboard image, and, if you choose to continue, generates a video based on that storyboard. Generation is performed by third-party AI models, currently ChatGPT Image2 (GPT Image 2) for storyboards and ByteDance Seedance 2.0 for videos, accessed through our AI infrastructure provider. We may change the models, providers, output formats, or features of the Service over time.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 【TO CONFIRM: 18】 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.
  • You must provide accurate information when you register and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You can sign up with an email address and password or with a Google account. You must verify your email address before using the studio.
  • One person may not maintain multiple accounts to obtain additional free benefits or evade restrictions.

3. Plans, credits, and payments

Credits. Generating content uses credits. The current costs are shown in the Service and on our pricing page. At the time of writing, a storyboard costs 8 credits and a 15-second video costs 450 credits. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and can only be used within the Service.

Subscriptions. The Pro plan is a recurring subscription billed monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout. Pro includes a monthly allowance of credits, which is added to your balance at the start of each monthly cycle. Unused credits carry over while your subscription is active. 【TO CONFIRM: what happens to remaining credits after a subscription ends — the Service currently keeps them in your balance.】

Credit packs. Active Pro subscribers may buy one-time credit packs. Purchased credits are added to your balance after payment is confirmed.

Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Prices are shown in US dollars and may exclude taxes, which are added where required. We may change prices for future billing periods with reasonable advance notice; changes do not affect a period you have already paid for.

Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to Pro benefits until then.

Refunds. 【TO CONFIRM: refund policy.】 Suggested default: payments for subscriptions and credit packs are non-refundable, including for partially used billing periods or unused credits, except where required by law or where we decide otherwise at our discretion. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days at support@powervideos.dev.

Failed generations. If a storyboard or video fails to generate or times out, the credits used for it are returned to your balance automatically. This credit refund is the only remedy for a failed generation; it does not create a right to a monetary refund.

4. Your content

Your inputs. "Inputs" means the stories, prompts, and other text you submit. You keep all rights you have in your Inputs.

Outputs. "Outputs" means the storyboard images and videos generated for you. As between you and us, and to the extent permitted by law and by the terms of the AI model providers, you own the Outputs and may use them for any lawful purpose, including commercial use. AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection in some countries, and similar or identical Outputs may be generated for other users. We do not guarantee that Outputs are unique, accurate, or free of third-party rights.

License to us. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display your Inputs and Outputs only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you, including sending Inputs and storyboards to our AI providers to generate your content. We do not use your Inputs or Outputs in our marketing without your permission.

Your responsibility. You are responsible for your Inputs and for how you use the Outputs. You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit your Inputs and that your use of the Service and the Outputs complies with these Terms and applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to create, upload, or share content that:

  • is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
  • sexualizes minors in any way, or depicts child sexual abuse;
  • is sexually explicit, or depicts a real person in a sexual or intimate context without their consent;
  • impersonates a real person, or creates misleading "deepfake" content about a real person without their consent;
  • harasses, threatens, or promotes violence or hatred against people based on protected characteristics;
  • infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
  • is designed to deceive others, including election or public-health misinformation, fraud, or scams.

You also may not:

  • attempt to bypass credit limits, payment, safety filters, or access controls;
  • scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Service, or access it through automated means we have not authorized;
  • resell or sublicense access to the Service;
  • use the Service to build a competing AI model or dataset.

The AI model providers apply their own content policies, and some requests may be refused or filtered. We may review, refuse, or remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that we reasonably believe violate these Terms.

6. Storage, availability, and deletion

We store your generation history so you can view, download, and delete it. You can delete individual generations at any time, and you can delete your account from Settings. Deleted content cannot be recovered. We aim to keep the Service available, but it is provided on an "as available" basis and may be interrupted for maintenance, provider outages, or other reasons. We are not responsible for loss of content you have not downloaded; please keep your own copies of anything important.

7. Intellectual property

The Service itself, including our software, design, text, logos, and trademarks, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use our name, logos, or trademarks.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Cloudflare (hosting, database, storage, and email), Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in), and our AI providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, unexpected, or unsuitable, and we do not guarantee any particular result.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Inputs, your use of the Outputs, or your violation of these Terms or of anyone's rights.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid subscription fees for the unused part of the current billing period.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or through the Service before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of 【TO CONFIRM: jurisdiction】, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of 【TO CONFIRM: venue】, unless applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
